Remember when Hermès turned heads with that calfskin AirPods case? Well, the French house just out-Hermès-ed itself. Enter: the most opulent, handcrafted headphones ever made.

These aren’t your average tech accessories. They’re objets d’art.

Welcome to the world of Hermès Ateliers Horizons, the maison’s bespoke design division, where leather meets legacy and luxury becomes tactile. Since 2012, under the creative eye of Axel de Beaufort, Ateliers Horizons has been crafting dream pieces for clients who believe yachts and DJ booths deserve the same artisanal touch as a Birkin or Kelly. From leather-wrapped cricket bats to portable cocktail bars, nothing is off-limits. But every so often, Hermès drops something entirely of its own imagination—and that’s where these headphones come in.

Let’s be clear: this isn’t just about tech specs, though the sound quality is reportedly exquisite, with both Bluetooth and wired connectivity, and it arrives tucked inside a handwoven fabric pouch stamped with the iconic carriage logo. But, this is about design, craftsmanship and leather that whispers luxury.

These headphones took more than two years to develop, crafted by a team of around 50 artisans in France. The outer ear cups and headband are wrapped in hand-stitched cowhide leather in a buttery caramel tone, matched with soft beige ear cushions and finished with polished metal accents.

If caramel isn’t your hue, there are other variations, including a rich Prussian blue and the house’s signature Rouge H, a decadent shade that sits somewhere between dark chocolate and burgundy.

Of course, this unapologetic luxury comes with a price tag to match: $15,000 USD. Yes, really. You’ll need to visit one of Hermès’ most exclusive boutiques if you want to get your hands (and ears) on a pair.

But here’s a silver lining for your splurge: unlike a Kelly bag, these actually do something. You can’t listen to your favorite playlists through a handbag. Not yet, anyway.
